Theatre Off Jackson

Theatre Off Jackson, located in Seattle’s International District, is a hub for diverse and affordable artistic performances. “Big Damn Party” is the name of their annual fundraising gala. This year, the organization celebrated its 20th year with a “Big Damn Birthday Party.” I managed the project and designed the event identity from the ground up, owning every piece from scoping and concepting to final print production.
One of the key contraints was working with a very modest production budget, so each identity element was designed with this in mind. The result was dynamic and hand-crafted, just like the theater itself. The gala exceeded fundraising goals, bringing in over $50,000 to support local performance, art and community.

The design direction is inspired by classic birthday party visuals like confetti, sprinkles, and cut paper decorations. The playful typography features a mix of widths and weights, celebrating the diverse range of performances that have graced the Theatre Off Jackson stage over the past 20 years.
