In 2020, the Brand team at Square partnered with Colophon type foundry to create a new custom typeface for our brand refresh. We wanted to amplify our voice and tone, and reflect the open, dynamic future of Square’s brand.
Along with providing feedback throughout Colophon’s process, I had the pleasure of designing a type specimen for the internal rollout. Our goal was to communicate the typeface to the other designers at Square, call attention to its details, and show off the glyphs in context.
